Sockapa-WOOHOO!

finished socks

Yarn: Blue Moon Fiber Arts Socks That Rock in Fred Flinstone
Needles: 2.75mm (US 2) 6″ Crystal Palace DPNs
Pattern: My own toe-up blend

For once I managed to finished and mail a pair of Sockapalooza socks before the deadline! These went to Bev in Philly. She requested fall or winter colours, line burnt reds or ambers. I think Fred Flinstone fits that request prefectly. I did these toe up with a magic cast on and afterthought heel. I then did a picot edge before binding off with a needle six sizes larger (all while my knitting group made comments about me being anal and uptight). My only hopes now are that Bev likes her socks and that they fit. My feet are considerably larger than hers, and while I knitted them to the measurements she provided, Murphy’s Law states that they will be the most ill-fitting socks she will ever own.

Someday, I gotta get off my ass and send you my foot measurements so you can make me socks, too!

These are lovely! Great colors! Can you share with me how you did the picot edge? I love toe up socks but can’t figure out how to end with this type of an edge.
