The Best Laid Plans

I’d fully intended to do “Flash Your Stash” again this year. However my camera is still being repaired (now at Canon since the first facility couldn’t fix it) and this weekend was spent celebrating the closure of my LYS. Yarn was spun, lambic was drank, and cupcakes were consumed all in the name celebrating what was.

I am sad to see Julie go. I fully understand her reasons for closing up shop, playing owner and operator for three years would wear anyone thin. While we were toasting her this afternoon I quipped, “Fuck, there goes my cheap therapy.” After all, a couple balls of Rowan Kidsilk Haze is a small price to pay for several hours of adult conversation.

Tomorrow will dawn a new day. For Julie it’ll be one that doesn’t require her to answer questions about why gauge is important. For me, it is the start of a new quarter of school. A quarter that looks like it is going to drag my ass through the mud if the required texts I had to purchase say anything.

Who knows, maybe I’ll get around to flashin’ my stash too. With no return in sight for the camera and a fourth birthday to celebrate in a few short weeks, there has been discussion about the purchase of a newer model. The financial pinch won’t be something I will complain about if it means I can get back to taking pictures.

I’m on the bandwagon for purchasing a new camera! I’m thinking about buying a new Canon myself, so I understand the dilemma!

Sounds like you and your son have b-days around the same day, how cute is that! Good luck with the new quarter. I took an intro to women’s studies class my freshman year, it’d be kind of interesting to see if anything’s changed at all since I took the class. It should be fun! 😀

Sorry the shop is closing. Sounds like it was a great place.
