Lizard Ridge

lizard ridge

Pattern: Lizard Ridge by Laura Aylor
Yarn: Noro Kureyon in the following colourways; 102 (four), 154 (three), 153 (two), 170 (two), 180 (two), 92, 134, 138, 159, 164, 165, 166, 182. Cascade 220 in black (for seaming) and teal (for edging).
Needles: US 8 (5.0mm) 24″ Addi Turbo Circular

Six weeks of marathon knitting, seaming, and crochetting later, the blanket is done.

A few notes on the project. I alternated skeins in each block, rather than the ends of one skein. I mattress stitched the entire thing together. When it came to the edging I dropped a hook size so I could single crochet around the edge and not have to guess where I put the hook. This resulted in a slight ruffle that went away when the blanket was blocked. There are plans to back the afghan this fall. Despite the pretty looks it has, it is made out of Kureyon and is bloody uncomfortable to cuddle with.

Bottom Feeder

I’ve reached the last dregs of the Spring Quarter. I have one final next week, another the week after that. Then my life will be blissfully free of the Rules of Natural Deduction and Cardiovascular Disease. Enrollment for next fall has already happened, leaving me to look forward to Anthropology and International Relations, or The Study of Old Shit and How to Bullshit as I like to call them.

This also means that ‘me’ will be sparse. A major suck, I’ve picked Charlotte’s Web back up for the first time in almost two months and having been making sweet love to my Lendrum. I shall just have to remind myself that I will have 14 uninterupted WEEKS to work soon.

Good, Bad, Ugly

– The seaming on Lizard Ridge is DONE.
– I have four weeks of school left.
– I’ve lost 10 pounds in the past two months.

– I’ve forgotten how much weaving in ends SUCKS.
– I have four weeks of school left.
– I am going to have to go shopping for new jeans.

– I still need to croshit crochet around the outside.
– I have four weeks of school left.
– I hate shopping for jeans.

Stick A Fork In Me

The knitting for Lizard Ridge? It is done. The seaming for Lizard Ridge? It hasn’t started and makes me want to weep in a dark corner.
