Post Script

I passed the math class. Barely, I should add, but I passed the bastard.

Illegal crossing

My Sockapaloooza socks are cursed. I was turning the heel on them when I noticed the stitch pattern was off about six rows down. An easy fix, or so I thought. The “easy fix” ended up being some rather colourful French, a sock flying down the hall, and a hot date with a ball winder so I could rip that baby all the way back.

I keep telling myself I will get these things done, but at this rate it’ll be next year before my poor pal gets her socks.

It’s Thursday…

…and I can’t be bothered to think of a decent title, eh.

I finished the back of Vanessa and it reminded me how much I love Japanese short rows. They beat the pants off of your standard wrap and turn short row any day. Now the back just needs a good blocking to open up the rib and then I can weave in the remaining 4,594,598 ends.

And in a spat of good news, Pell and his lovely Grants have decided to cover my schooling. A damned good thing too, since tuition is due tomorrow.

Blue Skies

I’ve been knitting ‘Vanessa’ from RYC’s Classic Art book for the shop and I think it has to be the slowest knit ever. I’m at that point in the arm holes on the back where I don’t think they will ever end. I knit 20 rows and they’re still only 16cm deep. Add in the ferret-like qualities of the pattern, upcoming doom finals, and a child who is acting every day of his almost three years of age and there hasn’t been a lot of time to knit.

She was indeed worn to Madrona.

I finished the last stitches while heading home on Friday, blocked out the wrap on Friday night, and then wove in my two ends (hooray for felting your ends together) right before I walked out the door and drove down to Tacoma.

The weight of the scarf is a wee bit impractical at the moment. The weather no longer calls for something that weighs 600 grams and almost eight feet long. But I love the colour and get compliments whenever I wear it out.
